How to Check System Information on Mac

Need to know the model, specs, and OS of your Mac? Click the Apple logo in the upper left corner of your screen. A list of options should appear; select the first one, “About This Mac.” From here, a handy pop-up will show you some basic info about your device.

While you’re on this screen, check if your Mac is Intel based. Apple won’t be supporting Intel Macs for much longer, so if you have one, it’s time to start planning an upgrade. In “About This Mac,” if you see the word “Chip” followed by something like “Apple M1” or “Apple M2,” your Mac is powered by Apple Silicon. If instead you see “Processor” followed by something with “Intel” in the name, your Mac is Intel based—in that case, give us a call. We’ll help you upgrade your equipment before your Mac goes obsolete.
