Kansas School District Goes All In On Apple
Kansas City Public Schools recently began the process to transition to an “all Apple district,” replacing a whopping 30,000 Windows PCs and Chromebooks with all new Apple devices. According to their website, the administration has already procured “4,500+ MacBook Neos [...] for students in 8th grade and up.”
The MacBook Neo has made a big splash with schools—in Apple’s Q2 earnings call, company CFO Kevan Parekh mentioned Kansas City Public Schools as an example of how the Neo is “resonating strongly in enterprise and education.” The model is significantly more affordable than others in the MacBook lineup, making it a strong competitor to the cost-effective Chromebooks districts have relied on in the past.
