In 2023, Illinois rehab center Top of The World Ranch Treatment Center was the victim of a phishing attack. Cybercriminals gained access to an employee’s email account, and as a result nearly two thousand patients' personal information was leaked. Soon after the attack, the department of Health and Human Services stepped in. After the worst had happened, the HHS had one question: What was done to prevent this?
