Funding Relief for Medical Practices Affected by Recent Cyber Attack
Change Healthcare, which provides payment management services to many medical practices in the U.S., experienced a significant cybersecurity breach in late February. In dealing with the threat, the company was forced to disconnect over 100 systems, leaving countless providers nationwide unable to process payments and claims. Although significant progress has been made in getting Change Healthcare’s claims network and electronic payment platform back online, the service disruption in February has been catastrophic for many practices.
If you are one of many healthcare practices experiencing financial hardship due to the Change Healthcare cyber attack, you may be eligible for the Temporary Funding Assistance Program. Change Healthcare’s parent company UnitedHealthcare is offering financial relief to providers impacted by the shutdown. There are no fees or interest rates, and practices will have 45 days to repay the funds in full.
If your practice has been impacted by the disruptions to Change Healthcare’s systems, you can apply for the Temporary Funding Assistance Program here.
Avoid Getting Hacked With These Password Tips
Use a different, strong password for each account to prevent potential breaches across multiple accounts.
Use a password manager to store and generate strong passwords securely.
But most importantly, Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) whenever possible, which adds an extra layer of security by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password.
The password manager we recommend is 1Password. Once you sign up for a 1Password account, we'll gladly help you set it up.
